Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the cold butter, flour, and sugar for the crust. Add the ice water a little at a time, mixing until the dough comes together.
  3. Press the dough into a single‑serving pie pan or ramekin, forming a thin crust.
  4. In another bowl, toss the chopped apple with cinnamon, sugar, and melted butter.
  5. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  6. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Tips

If the crust seems dry, add a few more drops of ice water. For extra caramel flavor, drizzle a little honey over the apples before baking.

About this recipe

This tiny apple pie is ideal when you crave a classic dessert without the leftovers. The crust combines cold butter, flour, a touch of sugar, and a splash of ice water to create a flaky base. The filling features half an apple, sweetened and spiced with cinnamon, then enriched with melted butter. Serve it warm, perhaps with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, for a comforting single‑serving treat.
